To :  All Woodbridge families who have a son/daughter currently on active duty in the U.S. military.  T. Nulty Post 471 holds a Blue Star Family Discussion Group at our Post Home at 25 Brown Ave. Iselin, NJ on the last Tuesday of every month from 7-9PM.  Please read the below for information. 

Post 471’s sole purpose is to bring together those families who have sons/daughters/husbands/wives currently serving in the US military.  The basic format is an informal roundtable setting to discuss mutual needs and concerns with each other.  Post 471 thus far has been able to assist in obtaining information from guests from NJ Dept. Of Veterans Affairs,  Middlesex County Veterans Affairs Council, as well as other American Legion national, state, and county offices to give to the Blue Star Family Discussion Group.  The information packets given to our Blue Star families has been very informative and valuable  to them.  For those families who had thought previously that this type of information or support was not available to you, please attend and meet with your fellow Blue Star families---a wonderful and heroic group of people who have bonded with each other and speak regularly to help and support each other as well.  You might have heard three members of the group—Matt Barany, Carol Palmer, and John Regep this past Sunday August 26th on WCTC AM 1450 speaking on the Veterans Roundtable program—they were great !!

There is no set agenda, the evening is for the families to discuss concerns ranging from possible financial assistance  for schooling upon their return, to places to buy items their sons/daughters need at discount prices, to comparing notes on the Family Readiness Groups for those serving, or about to serve, in Iraq/Afghanistan.  The families in attendance speak freely and ask each other questions during their meetings and are able to do so since their is no dais, no microphones, no moderator. 

There are several families in the greater Woodbridge area, and you are all invited to join the Blue Star Family Discussion Group on the following dates :

September 25th, October 30th, November 27th, December 18th, January 29th, February 26th, March 25th, April 29th, May 27th, June 24th.  Light refreshments will be available.

Please Remember – THEY ALSO SERVE WHO STAND AND WAIT !!!!!!!!!
