    If you are a veteran looking to join an active, veteran and community minded American Legion Post, please consider Post 471. If you qualify under the below eligibility dates, you only need to fill out our application form, enclose a copy of your DD 214, and mail or drop off at the Post, a $30 check for your first year dues.       Click here for info on obtaining a copy of your DD 214

    We need new members to help us with volunteer work at VA Hospitals, work with youth, help & participate in Post activities & meetings, Legion school programs (see below dates), work with Legion baseball, post improvement projects and other community projects and activities.

Membership Eligibility Requirements                                                           

April 6, 1917 to November 11, 1918 (World War I)
December 7, 1941 to December 31, 1946 (World War II)
June 25, 1950 to January 31, 1955 (Korean War)
February 28, 1961 to May 7, 1975 (Vietnam War)
August 24, 1982 to July 31, 1984 (Lebanon/Grenada)
December 20, 1989 to January 31, 1990 (Operation Just Cause - Panama)
*August 2, 1990 to today (Operation Desert Shield/Storm)

To be eligible to join the American Legion, you must have served at least one day of active military duty during the dates on the left and been honorably discharged or be still serving honorably.
